We're located in the middle of some of the Adirondacks most dependable snow for cross-country skiing, with abundant groomed and backcountry trails nearby.A "Wild and Scenic Study River", the Osgood, flows nearby with put-in and take-outs within a couple of miles of your driveway. Drop-off and pick-up arrangements can be made. This is a "must paddle" for those interested in wildlife and scenery
Your hosts, Bob and Sheila, are a former professional wilderness guide, and a life-long resident of the Paul Smiths area. Between the two of them, good advice - connecting you to great experiences and unique destinations - is as close to a sure thing as you can get. The temporary use of their brains is complimentary!Private location (Part of a 50 acre tree farm and maple sugar bush). Prime central location: 25 minutes to Titus Mountain Ski Center, Saranac Lake or Malone; 35 minutes to Lake Placid and its Olympic venues; 50 minutes to Whiteface Mountain. Laundry available. The Natural History Museum (Wild Center) of the Adirondacks is 40 minutes away in Tupper Lake. Other lakes and ponds just 5 minutes away.

Northern Adirondack Gem!
As veteran vacationers to the Saranac Lake region, we found this property to be an excellent value, clean, comfortable, well maintained and situated within minutes of the many ponds, lakes and mountains of the Saranac region. Nearby owners Bob and Sheila were wonderful hosts and very thoughtful in matching us with the sites we came to see and discovering more of the hidden Adirondacks. (Thanks again Bob for the pure maple syrup, farmed on their beautiful property!) Convenient to the VIC, Paul Smiths and Lake Clear, this property was the perfect fit for our large family. My wife and I enjoyed the modern kitchen adjacent to the great room living environment. A large loft made for a television, play, board game and sleeping area (nice futon). Our 5 children, ages 9-16, delighted in spending time around the campfire and exploring the 30 acre property. Wi-Fi access was a nice convenience in an area with limited cell phone reception. Birdsong filled the air by day, tree frogs sang by night. Yes, Camp Hatteras is the real deal for discriminating vacationers who seek convenience and value without the lakefront price.
