One of our favorite features at Waterfront Home is the large screen porch that opens off the main-floor living area. This space is furnished with a long table and chairs where you can enjoy meals and games in the fresh air — no bugs allowed! This porch, as well as the other living spaces with their large windows, has a quiet view of the surrounding lake and woodlands.
Waterfront Home makes the most of its unique locations right at the edge of New York’s scenic Lake Placid. With outdoor seating and a level lawn leading up to the waterfront, guests and families and enjoy the views during yard games and campouts.
Feel free to fish right from our docks and shore — we provide some fishing equipment at the house to get you started. You’ll also have free access to our cache of water toys and vehicles, not to mention the water trampoline tethered near our dock in warm weather!
This cabin rental is located close to favorite Adirondacks region activities and attractions, such as skiing and tubing, walking trails, historic tours and wildlife encounters. We also recommend looking around for antiques, live shows, fresh ice cream and famous mountain wineries.

I've booked the Cook Camp on lake placid for 3 family vacations and 1 work retreat. I love the place. Its secluded and quiet but also close to Lake Placid for lots of activities and ease of picking up necessities. The house is bigger and more comfortable than the photos suggest. The owner and caretakers are responsive. We were particularly impressed this year with the attention and care put into lots of upgrades that made a great stay even better. — Matthew, Aug 2019
My boyfriend and I rented this property for a summer vacation with all of our children. From the moment we arrived we were so happy we found this property. The House was a perfect set up for us, plenty of room for everyone and exceeded our expectations from the pictures. The property right in front of the house was perfect for the boys wiffle ball games and various other sports. Being right on the lake is so special and boat access only made it even better, truly a special and peaceful experience to just be in the beauty of the lake and mountains, no cars, roads, ect. That said, it was an easy and fun boat ride to the marina to get into town. We loved our week at Camp Cook and will definitely look to rent again next summer. — Pam, Aug 2018
Our first trip to Lake Placid and despite colder than normal temperatures we had a wonderful time. This little cabin in the woods offers you everything. Access to the water, access to trails for hiking, and a chance to get away from all your cares in the world. This cabin is certainly a rare find. We will be booking it again next year! — Kate, Sep 2017
We loved being at Cook Camp. The pictures actually do not do the camp justice. The interior remodel is fresh and just the right blend of rustic with modern conveniences, clean and comfortable. We loved the large kitchen and kitchen table but ate all our meals together at the big table on the screened in porch. Also loved the lean-to campfire overlooking the lake. Great waterfront for swimming and lots of toys to enjoy the lake. We were blown away how quiet the location is and how easy it is to get to lots of fun lake placid activities. You can be as active or restful as you want to me. We can't wait to go back. — Matthew, Aug 2017
We have stayed at this property in the past and have always very much enjoyed each visit. This property is only accessible by boat, which we like, and truthfully the sunset boat rides are the most anticipated part of the day. The master bedroom and bath are newer to the property and are very well done. All bedrooms are nice and comfortable. The kitchen is roomy and has all the amenities you could want. A fire pit and log shelter with a nice lake view has been added since our last visit and this is where we spent most evenings after our boat ride around the lake. The entire Lake Placid area is beautiful and this is a nice property to stay at while you enjoy it. We highly recommend it. — Rob, Oct 2017

I was born and raised in the house! It is continually updated and improved since it burned right after the 1980 Olympics. Everything inside and out has been redone over the past seven years.
