Larger families and groups will love our new Buck’s Bunk House on the D & K Ranch. Lasso your group of up to 8 and get to the Ranch for some horseback riding adventure. Get to know our wranglers; they can answer any questions about your stay plus make a few recommendations of some great local places to see - you’re here to live like a local right? We offer activities for the whole family in the wonderful Finger Lakes National Forest!
In addition to Buck’s Bunk House, the D & K Ranch has other small cabins if it’s just the two of you. The heart and sole of the ranch is the camp kitchen, aka the Crooked Hat gathering area! Outdoor grill for BBQ, indoor stove top for “fancy” cooking.
Sleeping arrangement: 4 bunk beds. Bottom bunks are queen or doubles, tops are singles.
Our brand new Buck’s Bunk House will be ready for Spring 2018! If features an indoor sitting area and a private outdoor picnic area. The 5 minute walk to the Bunk House includes meeting our ranch Bell Hop: Trixie (A cute black and white pony). She will help cart items to your ranch accommodations.
Since you book directly with us here at our Family Run Horse Ranch, we can answer all your “riding & ranch” questions - Our goal is to make this a horseback riding vacation designed just for your group. Make sure you take time to hike out to the Old Dog Saloon.
Experience the Finger Lakes on Horseback! If you choose one of our riding packages, you’ll rise and shine to coffee and continental breakfast before hitting the dusty trails. You can even help gather eggs for breakfast at the Chicken coop. Explore our ranch trails by horseback or foot.
Embrace the Finger Lakes regional sight-seeing opportunities: Find wonderful trails for hiking, biking and paddling. The grapes grow for miles, the wine flows in abundance, and the tales of ghosts are real. Drive to Spook Hill (where cars roll uphill when put into neutral), and the Naples Hotel is haunted by at least six friendly spirits. 11 pristine lakes provide on water fun in the Finger Lakes - take a scenic boat tour with winery tastings, sailing, fishing (Finger Lakes fishing is truly world-class). Keep your spurs dry and take a scenic drive through farmland and small towns, with a mix of 19th-century homes and red-brick downtowns - go by car, motorcycle, or bicycle! One of our favorite festivals is the Naples Grape Festival. Top your visit off with a tour of a sugar shack (early spring) to see how maple trees are tapped.

Ashlee Rose. My mother and I had such an amazing time here! Kelly and Jolene are amazing guides, they're very professional but also relaxed which makes for a beautiful trail ride with no stress at all! If we could go ride there everyday, we definitely would! Beautiful place, beautiful horses, and amazing people - best trail riding experience we've ever had!
Nicki Marie. Amazing ride, they custom picks horses for each individual. the trails are beautiful, especially in the fall.. and they have so many cute animals.. kittens, horses, and puppies. The crew at d&k ranch are informative, supportive, and friendly. I can’t wait to come back!
Jessica Schnell. Most interesting "obstacle" course trail ride ever. It was part training for the horses, part sampling of the types of tasks ranchers have to do. Kelly was so nice and generous, because we were early, we got to interact with the horses beforehand to choose our favorite horse to ride. And then we practiced riding in the paddock to see their responsiveness to signals. Best time ever, highly recommend. Easy to book online, but email Kelly any special requests!
Mark Cui. That is first time horse ride, made a phone call for book time, when we arrived, two girls (could not remember the names, sorry. one is owner doughter, one is intern student) were waiting there, service is wonderful, they treated us as old friends, friendly, warm, and professional. Highly recommended.
Scott Brayall. ABSOLUTELY GREAT PLACE!!! As other reviews have stated, Kelly and everyone at the ranch were absolutely great! As soon as we got there, we felt right at home. Kelly was the friendliest person I have ever met. She paired us up with horses that were perfect for both myself and my girlfriend. We will most certainly be returning. The trail ride was amazing! We just went out, talked the whole way, learned about the area. Was as if we had known Kelly for YEARS!

We have a horseback riding vacation designed just for you! We have 10 horses available to riders because we like to keep our groups small so we are able to work with the comfort of the rider. Our goal in creating D & K Ranch is to not only enjoy our favorite pastime, but also to build and share the connection that people can have with horses. We enjoy getting to know our guests.
Each horse has a story about their life they show through their behavior, and as people learn it they respond and learn about themselves too. D & K stands for us, Dave & Kelly. Saddle up!
