Privacy at the ranch! Even though there are other cabins at our D&K Ranch, our Martha’s Cabins are private from other guests. Be ready to saddle up; we offer daily trail rides or riding lessons. Be ready to rough it a little bit too in our rustic yet comfortable cabins. We are a family run Horse Ranch! Since you book directly with us, we can answer all your “ranch” questions in advance - let us know what you are hoping to get out of your experience here at the D & K Ranch. We welcome beginners to expert riders, plus a variety of extra rides you can sign up for. You’re going to love the quaint ranch cabins and the 16,000 acres to ride in the Finger Lakes National Forest!
We have 10 horses available to riders. We like to keep our groups small so we are able to work with the comfort of the rider. Get to know other riders by spending an evening or two roasting marshmallows around the campfire.
Sleeping arrangement: 1 queen bed and 2 single beds
Martha’s Cabins in Finger Lakes country offer guests a private outdoor picnic area. Our Bell Hop: aka Trixie (A cute black and white pony) will help you get your items to your Martha’s Cabin (5 minute walk from the parking lot). You’ll find wranglers at the ranch who will match you with a horse and treat you as part of our family. Bring your camera, and your guide will help with action photos on the trail.
Chances are you are here to ride! Start your day at the Crooked Hat gathering area with Coffee and a continental breakfast (also the place for an Outdoor BBQ). This is where you’ll find an indoor stove top for more fancy cooking, Refrigerator to store any food, Coffee & Tea, ice and a table for meals and card playing.
Beginners can take to the Shave Tail Ride; adventurous beginners can try the Obstacle Course; advanced riders can travel a bit more by horseback on a 90 minute Chuck Line Ride through the Finger Lakes National Forest and finish with an amazing ride through a beautiful meadow.
Welcome to the heart of NY Wine country and the Finger Lakes National Forest. This is your chance to experience the Forest on horseback! Cabin time at the ranch starts with a tour of the ranch facilities on horseback. We have activities such as Foosball, Corn hole, and Horse shoes. If you need to stretch your legs, take a hike out to the Old Dog Saloon. Experience life as a ranch hand too; gather eggs from the Chicken Coop.
If you’re visiting for several days, Finger Lakes exploration is a must! Excellent wine plus a number of breweries, distilleries and hard-cider producers are minutes away. Family friendly too: Tour the Glenn H. Curtiss Aviation Museum, 19 waterfalls, or trade the saddle in for some hiking and biking, boating and fishing on 11 glacial lakes each connected by rivers ultimately leading into Lake Ontario. Other popular destinations: Letchworth State Park, Watkins Glen gorges, Chimney Bluffs. Other Finger Lakes“trails” include art trails, history and museum trails, the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail. Your private Finger Lakes cabin is in the middle of it all.
Things to wear: Boots, hats, Jeans. This is a horseback riding adventure, so leave your scarves and dresses at home:)

We understand things come up but the deposit will be charged if there is a no call no show. Riders must weigh under 220lbs. Make an apt to have a massage after a day of riding with our Massage therapist.

Courtney McKenna. Kelly was absolutely amazing to work with. I reached out to her to plan an overnight at the ranch for my sisters 30th birthday. We had a group of 10 and we all had such a blast. The cabins are still in progress but the completed ones we stayed in were perfect and had amazing accommodations (glamping) and the common area with outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and fire pit were great for cooking out and hanging out all night. The rides are super tailored to your level of experience and they really take the time to teach you and match you to a horse best suited for your personality and ability. I can't say enough about D&K and the entire staff, they truly went above and beyond for us. Needless to say we all agreed we would be returning annually.

Jessica Schnell. Most interesting "obstacle" course trail ride ever. It was part training for the horses, part sampling of the types of tasks ranchers have to do. Kelly was so nice and generous, because we were early, we got to interact with the horses beforehand to choose our favorite horse to ride. And then we practiced riding in the paddock to see their responsiveness to signals. Best time ever, highly recommend. Easy to book online, but email Kelly any special requests!

We have a horseback riding vacation designed just for you! We have 10 horses available to riders because we like to keep our groups small so we are able to work with the comfort of the rider. Our goal in creating D & K Ranch is to not only enjoy our favorite pastime, but also to build and share the connection that people can have with horses. We enjoy getting to know our guests.
