If it’s romance and seclusion you seek than this log cabin on 85 acres with wood (provided) burning fireplace will set the mood just fine. Even the lake is private! Our cabin is on a 3.5 acre lake that is shared with no one else. Your Hudson River Valley getaway starts here!
Inside you’ll find some of my canvas paintings (a new activity since my retirement). The well stocked kitchen has powdered drinks, coffee, spices, utensils, pots & pans, dishes. Though you might want to grill & dine outside at either the outdoor dining area next to cabin, or down by the dock area.
Sleeping arrangement: Comfortable queen sized sofa bed - Bathroom with stall shower.
The hanging chairs on the covered front porch are a great place to watch mother nature. We give you lots of reasons to simply relax: hammocks, lounge chairs, benches. Ask about our seasonal fresh herb garden! Your closest neighbor is 1/4 mile away, so enjoy your total privacy. We have lots of outdoor lighting around cabin too so you can enjoy the after-dark sounds of nature .
Since you book directly with us (Karen and “Serge”), we can give you locals-tips if you are new to the area. Just let us know what the two of you like to do. The selection of historic sites, parks, and recreational activities are abundant. Time your trip: Antiques Fair in May; Dutchess County Fair in August; Hudson Valley Arts Festival in October. You can even watch weekend air shows during summer months.
it’s not just the perfect place for marriage proposals and Anniversary celebrations; our Hudson Valley Cabin is great for those getaways that need no reason. Cabin time here includes exploring our woods in search of the 40' gorge! We have a trail map and some trail signs that point your hiking compass in any direction. Our cozy log cabin even has a cozy lake where you can fish, swim, row, and playing in the water using our inflatable boats. Keep your eyes open for surfacing fish, frogs, ducks, geese, herons, deer, and turkeys.
Bring some fishing gear, this lake is full of large mouth bass that are great for a fish fry. Bring your bikes and take a self-guided bike tour to Dutchess County and the scenic scenic Hudson Valley. Get ready to paddle, and play throughout the Hudson Valley!
Take a break from the lake and explore these historic Dutchess County towns - Rhinebeck, Millbrook (vineyards & winery), Hyde Park, Red Hook (antique airplane museum), and Pine Plains, NY. Ask us about bike tours, horseback riding, art museums, Finger Lakes wine tours, and unique restaurants. Leaving here is going to be one of the hardest things we’ve ever done!! No words can express the relaxing calm & quiet this magical place has to offer. It is truly a special little slice of heaven, and we will never forget how wonderful our time here was. Thank you so much for sharing it with us and others, and thank you also for your generous hospitality! We will dream about it often and hope one day to return. Best Joanna and Chris
We will never forget this peaceful weekend at your cabin! So much peace, love and warmth to be found out here in nature. Thank you for your hospitality and shoveling us out so we can get back home! This was our first but not the last! N & D
From the moment we stepped out of the car it was true love. And it just got better and better. This was the perfect spot for R and I to get a romantic weekend alone - the first in 21 years! We decided we will be back every year! D & R
Thank you for providing us with one of the best vacation retreats we could imagine! What started as a complete surprise excursion ended with pure magic and harmony. Your cabin is adorable, cozy, warm, and incredibly inviting. Your attention to detail and attendance to every need is unparalleled. It'll be so difficult to leave such a beautiful place! I want to keep this place a secret, but I also want to exclaim from the mountain top how perfect a get-away it is. We are leaving relaxed and restored and we shall carry the joy your cabin brought us for weeks to come. We can't wait to come back. S & J
Last year in this very journal J and I wrote how we hoped to return to the cabin again next year. Well, here we are. This cabin will always be a part of our lives because last night we got engaged by the picnic bench, This was the place I realized last year I was going to fall in love with J. I am so happy this is the place he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. G.
Our second trip to the cabin was even more beautiful and memorable than the first as we got engaged before the fire on our first night here. We couldn't think of a more romantic, serene place to start our lives together. B & M

Our wonderful 85 acres has been in our family for many years. We've been sharing it with guests since 2002 and love meeting all our guests. Our dog is a member of the family - we all love the outdoors and the surrounding beauty of Dutchess County. Look for my paintings on cabin walls and on rocks spread around the grounds.
