You can’t get much closer to the lakefront than this adorable converted boathouse on Long Lake located in the Adirondack Mountains. Our seasonal Retreat Cottage on the eastern shore of Long Lake in upstate New York is a destination for rejuvenation. Sit back on the deck’s chairs and relax, you are in the heart of the Adirondack’s tranquility. Maybe you will even spot an Eagle or a Loon fishing on the water. When you want to go fishing, there is a shared dock to cast from or take out one of the resort’s canoes, kayaks or paddle boards and test the waters for your prized catch.
A sandy beach area with chairs and a swimming platform on the pier will be summer favorites for both children and parents. There are also shared picnic tables, grills, and fire pits for outside fun.
Inside, the Long Lake Retreat Cottage has Dish TV, a flat screen TV, a DVD player, and high-speed WIFI. Heaters and ceiling fans keep you comfortable in any weather. The bedroom has 2 full beds decorated with classic Adirondack flare. The bathroom includes a tub/shower unit. The kitchenette is fully equipped with stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker, glassware, dinnerware, cookware, and silverware.

This is a delightful, intimate Adirondack retreat for families or friends traveling together. We are also a pet-friendly resort, so check with us about bringing your pet along! An inviting sandy beach is perfect for play, swimming and diving are available nearby at the Long Lake beach with full-time life guard. Bring your fishing gear along too, because the fishing is great for bass and pike.
The resort’s shared dock, picnic tables, grills, and fire pits create lots of opportunities to be outside enjoying nature, and also allow you to interact with others if you want to. This little gem makes a wonderful solo retreat option too. Get out on lake in one of the resort’s canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards and explore.
There’s plenty to do right from the front door of your Retreat Cottage. But when you want to take a day trip, it’s just a short drive to Historic Long Lake Village where you’ll find restaurants, shopping, groceries, and supplies. A seasonal farmer’s market features locally grown produce and artisan crafts. Be sure and stop in Hoss’s General Store - a landmark in the Village - where you can find everything from a vacation souvenir to fishing gear and crafts.
This pet-friendly Adirondack cottage is located in hiker’s heaven. There are dozens of trails to choose from ranging from easy nature walks to a more challenging hike on the Northville-Placid trail. A short easy hike to nearby Buttermilk Falls offers picturesque photo opportunities. Practically anywhere you go will take you through forest with sweeping views of the Adirondack Mountains. We are in Retreat and it is a perfect gem for two, not fancy but comfy, warm and suitably log cabin. Tiny little kitchen where we can cook, small frig and freezer, nice hot water shower, two beds for warm cozy sleeping. Porch with Adirondack chairs is perfect for watching lake and relaxing. It is quiet, lovely and a great unwinding place. I love it! Patricia
