Rock Haven is a cozy, two-bedroom cottage with a fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable living room and a gas-burning fireplace. The kitchen features the essentials for cooking and dining, as well as modern appliances – a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. The full interior of Rock Haven is lined with natural-finish, golden-hued knotty pine, giving it a warm, rustic atmosphere.

The living room is furnished with chairs gathered around the fireplace and a cushioned, old-fashioned rocker. This nostalgic, traditional-style, family cabin is pet-friendly – pet owners will please bring their own blankets. Set on a quiet, wooded lot, Rock Haven offers a level, grassy lawn and cool shade in summer from a windscreen of mature trees. Rock Haven is a private cabin but shares an interior wall with Stone Have cottage. The two cabins can be rented together to accommodate larger groups.

Sleeping arrangements: Rock Haven has two private bedrooms – the first is furnished with a full-sized bed, and the second contains both a full-sized bed and a bunk bed with twin-sized mattresses.

Unique Features

Rock Haven sits between the trees on a shady plot of grass near the lakeshore. Right outside, guests will find a stone fire pit, sturdy Adirondack lounge chairs, a wooden picnic table and a charcoal grill. Hide-A-Way Waterfront Cottage is fully equipped to provide guests with everything they need to enjoy upstate New York’s scenic natural features and beautiful landscapes to the fullest – from calm waters to majestic mountains to a country night sky full of stars.

At Rock Haven, guests have access to resort amenities such as a shared, sandy beach area, a volleyball court, ping-pong and horseshoes and a children’s swing set play area – not to mention the free use of Hide-A-Way Waterfront’s collection of rowboats and canoes! Guests can explore the nooks and crannies of Lake Vanare by boat or spend a relaxing day on the water angling for bass, crappie or trout.

Things To Do

The Hide-A-Way Waterfront Cottages resort offers a resort-style cabin community with a variety of shared amenities. The cottages share frontage on a pristine lake in northern New York’s Adirondack Mountains – a region that is bursting with breathtaking scenery and natural features and a wide variety of exploration and sporting opportunities. Between its lush woodlands, impressive peaks, and hundreds of miles of streams and rivers, the Adirondacks are an exciting adventure destination for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Canoe or kayak through clear waterways – ranging from still to rushing – take a leisurely stroll, a challenging climb, or watch the views careen past as you ski downhill through the winter powders. The Adirondacks are traversed by more than 2,000 miles of nature trails with many gorgeous waterfalls along the way. And, should you choose to point your compass straight up the mountains, the panoramic view from the peaks is worth the exertion. The Adirondacks are also home to a number of accomplished distilleries and microbreweries – not to mention historic villages, unique dining experiences and local shops in the surrounding towns.

Reviews

Spent our first anniversary weekend here. Great place and the owner was wonderful. We had a very small issue in our cottage when we arrived, nothing we were that concerned about. We were moved immediately to a new cottage. We were very impressed with our experience. Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Definitely will be making this an annual stay! Cannot say enough good things!! Alison Johnson
Everything was perfect! Felt just like home, only was in the woods! My fiance and I stayed in the Pine cottage and it was very nice and secluded and perfect for our occasion. Most everything is provided, even a bundle of firewood and a s'mores package, just need to bring food, clothes, lighter, TOWELS (We forgot these, but the the staff was able to lend us a few for our stay, TY), and other bathroom essentials (shampoo). The boats are really awesome, and the lake is very placid and good size to row on at anytime of the day. There was a variety of birds and squirrels and chipmunks all around that made the final piece of the puzzle just perfect! They didn't get too close, but close enough to see or hear. I will be planning another trip here next Fall for sure. Thank you again to all the staff! James Switser
Cottages are clean and cozy! Went there for a family vacation and we had a wonderful time. Owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back! Kandy Galvin Munoz
I love hide-away waterfront cottages!! It's my favorite place to take my beautiful daughter , I've been there 5 times within 2 years. My first time there i was 6 months pregnant and have made it a tradition to go every Mother's Day , 2 years in a row. The cabins are beautiful and the view is amazing ! No matter what cabin I stayed at it has always been delightful . The owner Peter is one the nicest people you'll ever meet and his daughter is also very sweet! I will be visiting real soon.
