Vista Cottage is the largest of the rental cottages offered at Journey’s End Lodging, with room for up to 8 overnight guests. The cottage is located among the trees in the Adirondack Park, at the top of a gentle incline overlooking the lake.
Guests to Vista will have a small, grassy area for grilling, sunning and outdoor play, as well as a porch and a parking space next to the cottage. The cottage is designed with a large, social front room that includes side-by-side living and dining areas, a fully equipped kitchen and a full bath with a tub and shower. The living room is arranged in a visiting circle with two deep reading chairs and a sofa. There is a great view from the picture window and a flat-screen TV mounted in the corner. The dining room is furnished with a table and chairs for four. The corner kitchen is equipped with modern appliances including a full-sized refrigerator and all the essentials for cooking and dining.
Sleeping arrangements: Vista Cottage has three private bedrooms, furnished with a queen-sized bed in the master suite along with a vanity, a full-sized bed in the second bedroom and two full-sized beds in the third. The bedrooms overlook woods but ensure privacy with wooden blinds. Each has storage bureaus, closets, ceiling fans and tables.
Vista Cottage enjoys a quiet resort setting and is part of a small vacation community in Adirondack Park. Vista is one of five unique vacation units arranged in a loose cluster along the edge of Long Lake. This gives guests the option of renting one cottage for a small group or single-family vacation or choosing several small units — each equipped with their own kitchens and bathrooms — for larger group get-togethers such as corporate retreats or reunions.
Journey’s End Lodging offers on-site kayaks, paddle boards and canoe for guests, as well boat docks, grills, fire pits and picnic tables, and access to nearby tennis courts, all with a scenic view of the Adirondack Mountains!
Vista Cottage enjoys a secluded wilderness vacation spot right inside Adirondack Park — more than six million acres of both private and public lands. Long Lake is located at the center of the park, putting accommodations at Journey’s End Lodging in the ideal position for day trips in every direction. Adirondack Park is home to scenic trails for hiking and biking, as well as beautiful waterways for exploring in kayaks and canoes.
Visitors to the area can boat and fish, or venture into the surrounding towns for shopping, dining and local theater. The historic village of Long Lake offers multiple unique dining experiences, a beloved custard stand, a picturesque public library and convenient locals for picking up groceries and other supplies.
The Long Lake public beach has fine sand, tethered platforms for swimming and diving, and lifeguards. Visitors may also want to reserve a morning out of your trip to peruse the local open-air farmer and artisan market. Other local favorites include the Adirondack Museum, the Wild Center and the Nature Interpretive Center (free admittance and open year-round) — all excellent, interactive learning experiences for both children and adults. The cottage is also conveniently located near the Adirondack Lake Center for the Arts, where visitors peruse the exhibits and enjoy live theater and music.

This is a great location and a lovely property. The waterfront is beautiful, with plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the lake. There is a great dock, a little beach and canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. The location is in the heart of the Adirondacks with lots of fabulous paddling and hiking within minutes. Goodnow Mountain is a gem and is less than 15 minutes from the cabin. Vista cabin was comfy and fit our family of five easily. We plan on coming back regularly. Andy S., July 2015
